Another record I can never find is Reuben's mother Emma Tonks in the 1851 census.

In 1841 she is living in Brockmoore with her three children, Mary 8, John 6 and William 3.

Reubens father John Tonks (a boatman) died in 1857 and Emma married Thomas Wood,  boatman.

 ... any help much appreciated.

Thomas Harris married Ann Beddall 1825.

In 1851 Thomas & Ann are living in Crone Hills, West Bromwich with their son and wife, James & Ann.

In 1871 Thomas & Ann are living in Beale Street, West Bromwich with their Nephew Reuben Tonks.

Can anyone see Thomas & Ann and Reuben Tonks (born 1852) in the 1861 census.

Thanks for looking.

Ernest Tonks 1892 Q4 mmn Freeth , 6b 776 West Bromwich

In FreeReg, I found Ernest Tonks Baptism 5 Oct 1892 , Oldbury
parents Reuben & Elizabeth, living 6 Chapel Street, Rounds Green (which today is an industrial estate)

I couldn't find any deaths/burials for Ernest in FreeReg.
The record for Ernest Tonks you found, Jun qtr 1893 6c 78, is probably the one.

1877 Reuben Tonks married Elizabeth Freeth.
In the 1911 census Elizabeth is living at 163 Herbert St. Small Heath, Birmingham with six children.
The census records that Reuben and Elizabeth had eleven children, of which two had died.

Florence Louise born 1893 died 1894 and Ernest born 1892 and died ??

Can anyone see any details of birth/baptism dates and burial details for Florence and Ernest?

Thank you for looking.
Michael was born in 1793 and his daughter Martha was born in 1813 which indicates that Michael married Mary sometime between 1808 and 1814. I cannot find any records for any marriages for St Mary on the Hill in this period ....  maybe they have yet to be transcribed. I found marriage records up to 1805 for St Mary, including Michael's father John Gerrard in 1792, and records from 1818 onwards.

If it's not transcribed we wont find it ... unless I take a trip to Chester.

Thanks again

I did because Martha, the sister of Miles, was born in 1816.

It is possible, of course, that the siblings had two different mothers, both called Mary.
AND Mary being a common name it is certainly not impossible.

Miles Gerrard was baptised 24 Feb 1822, Chester, St Mary on the Hill, to Michael & Mary.

In 1841 Miles (Moyles) was living in Handbridge with his parents and his sister Martha (1816)

Can anyone see the marriage of his parents Michael & Mary?

Michael was baptised with his twin brother John, 13 June 1793, Chester, St Mary on the Hill.
