I also have a McLaren that I can't find any info on.
Her name is Janet and she married Archibald Carmichael.
They had 2 children that I have found a Duncan born 1784 in Easter Tulich, Perthshire,died 1862 Barraanach, Ardtalnaig, Perthshire, and a Janet born 1788 in Kenmore.
Can anyone link these to their trees or have any other information?
What happened with the previous post re checking tombstones?? Any luck?

On the 1901 Census for Kenmore Perth, "Tina" Carmichael is 4 yrs old which means she was born around 1897.
I have searched Scotland's People to no end with all sort of variances of her name and yet cannot find a birth for her.
Her parents were Duncan Carmichael and Christina McIntyre.
Since Duncan was recorded as 66 on the 1891 Census and only 3 yrs older in 1901 I did enlarge the search dates! They had twins born in 1893 and the mother died in 1900.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I did find her marriage in Essex England to a Alfred Heffer in 1921 BUT cannot find her death either.

A couple of items... I have discovered since I posted my response that I indeed was wrong! 
and that the parents of Margaret Norval were indeed Joseph Norval and Janet Cree.
Diddy: Re the 19 Norvals listed on the Fife death index, I would be interested but not quite sure what "send your email by PM" means...
And Sue in Canada, I can fill in the blanks on Margaret marrying Peter Laing if you have not yet found the answer since your post of 2004.
