Hello
I also have a direct line to Peter Hobbs and Emma Price. I’m stuck at Peter mother Jone as well. His will is at the Wiltshire Records Centre in Chippenham.
There are earlier Hobbes’s in Easterton and Market lavington
1: Roger Hobbes East Lavington (now Market Lavington) Made will 1573
2: William Hobbes Easterton died 20th November 1618 he had a son John Hobbes who was at least 30 years old or more
3: John Hobbs was buried 15th mar 1674 Market Lavington
4: John Hobbs of Easterton made a will 1683
5: John Hobbs Easterton made a will 1696
Any of the last three could have been Jone’s father. But sorting them out is anybody guess!
Just a word on Seymour (spelt as Seymor on his b/c) He married Mary Lane in 1870. Went to work in Wales (Glamorgan) about 1871/1872 where they had 3 children they came back to Wiltshire a settled in Devizes about 1877/1879 and had 2 more children.
Seymour’s mother Ann Wilkins died 1846, and his father remarried Mary Batt on May 25th 1850 at Littleton.
My direct ancestor Benjamin Hobbs move to West Lavington around about 1763/1765
I hope this has been of some help
