The Fold3 record does state he was a Carpenter so would fit with a Wheelwright  :)

Nothing much else to go off though sadly.

Didn't find any reference in the newspapers to his desertion around that time in August/September 1881

Would he not have been included on the 1881 census?

Also surprisingly I couldn't find a service record on FindMyPast who are normally pretty good for Army Service Records around that time.....

The desertion and the Queensland, Australia birth he stated on the 1921 census could work now that he left England around that time to live in Australia but I guess any ships records he could have lied about to protect him from his desertion and likely his time in Australia.  I mean he lied on his return from 1909 onwards so very plausible  :(

That's brilliant Heywood - thank you  :)

I'm hopefully firstly going to find the record on Fold3 myself and then see what it says

I'll also see if anything might come up in the newspapers around that time as they did list deserters back then didnt they

Thanks

Suffolk / William Caleb Peel Hart born 1st October 1861 Stowupland

Hi All,

Not really sure where to post this but thought I'd start with Suffolk!

I'm trying to locate what happened to William Caleb Peel Hart after the 1871 census and bar a marriage taking place in Liverpool on 12th July 1909 he then can't be traced on the 1911 census either before he finally appears on the 1921 census, before his death in 1925.

William was born in Stowupland, Suffolk in 1861 with his parents Elijah (d1879) and Lydia (d1890).

As mentioned above I am unable to find him anywhere on the 1881, 1891, 1901 or 1911 census records.

In addition his marriage record states he was aged 30 when he was really aged 48  ;D and on the 1921 census he has stated he was born in Queensland, Australia and was aged 50 when he would be aged nearly 60!  He was living at 68 Back St Anne Street in Birkenhead, Cheshire.

Lastly his death record has him dying early in 1925 aged 51 when again he should be aged 63.

Literally anything in regards to finding him on any census's or any other finds for him would be really appreciated.

Thanks
Phil

US Lookup Requests / Re: Renee Weber & Frank Weber Nov 1946
« on: Wednesday 15 April 09 21:44 BST (UK)  »
Hey Shelleyesq
That's awesome! Thanks a lot!
Are you able to send me an email of the ships manifest?  The one I've got from findmypast states that Frank was born in 1920 so I'm not sure if that Social Security Death index info is correct.  Also on that record it doesn't indicate that the last residence or any residence was Cincinnati, Ohio.  My email address is (*) if you are able to send anything. Is there anyway of finding if they had any kids?
Also there is another Frank R Weber born 1920 that the issue area was Ohio - could this be him also?  Renee I only know was born in Quarter 2 - 1923.
Hope you or anyone else can help further - thanks

US Lookup Requests / Renee Weber & Frank Weber Nov 1946
« on: Wednesday 15 April 09 20:57 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I wonder if anyone could assist me - I'm trying to trace what happened to 2 of my relations Renee Weber Nee Baxendale and her husband Frank R Weber who I believe was an American and must have been involved somewhere in World War 2 as I've heard that Renee was a GI bride and they got married in 1946 - a couple of months later they sailed to New York which I've found via the ships lists but after that I'm struggling.  I'm not sure how old Frank is/was - Renee was born 1923 so could well be still alive.  The only other info I know was that I think Renee remarried again and that on the ships list Frank was listed as a correspondent??
Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction as to what happened next in their lives?
Thanks
Phil

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Kell marriage & Baptisms 1878-1908
« on: Saturday 25 October 08 17:49 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for the reply Crianne but I know you can order the certificates, my request was based on if anyone is in the area and going to their local library in Leicester that would be able to do some look ups for me while they were there at the churches I'd given to hopefully find the info - as opposed to the £7 per certificate cost.
I'd go myself but if I dont get any joy from anybody doing the look ups I'll be gradually building up a hefty amount of records to search on and go myself in the future when its worthy to travel down to Leicester myself for the day.
Cheers anyway though

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Kell marriage & Baptisms 1878-1908

Hi

Not being local to the Leicester area I wonder if anyone could assist me please with some look ups at the local library I presume on a branch of mine that was in the Leicestershire area certainly between 1878 and 1908

I'm in need of the dates and as much other info as possible on the marriage or baptism records (addresses, jobs, fathers, witnesses etc) for the following which going off the censuses where they were living I'm hoping will have happened at either St Margarets, St Mary's or St Lukes in Leicester.

The addresses some of my relations were living at were either 74 (1881) or 79 (1891) Gladstone St, Leicester , 45 Bismark Street, Leicester (1901) or 12 Erskine St, Leicester (1901)

The marriages were:

Sarah Ann Tallis and Walter Kell Q1 1878
Florence Kell and unknown Q3 1904
Alice Kell and Thomas Henry Hodgkins Q2 1908

The Baptisms were:

Florence Kell Q4 1880
Alice Kell Q4 1882
Walter Kell Q4 1885
Percy Kell Q2 1890

Any assistance would be fantastic on any of the above
Thanks
Phil
