Would anyone know why Robert Heath was convicted and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment in 1848? When he was released his wife attempted to poison him using arsenic in a pudding. Does anyone know anything about the family from his first marriage? His second wife, Ellen, was transported to VDL.
Thanks Lettie.

Hi Sally,
I would be really interested in knowing what was on Jane's death certificate. I suspect she was not buried with the rest of the family due to her crime and her illegitimacy.
Mary Hogg's death certificate stated she was a widow aged 82 and that she died of natural decay on 24 April 1854. Her death was registered by the undertaker Wm Smith of Launceston. He obviously did not know her well, and made assumptions about her marital status and age. She was not quite that age, but may have looked it. As this is the only death for a Mary Hogg of roughly the right age, I think it is fair to assume it is our Mary. There is no evidence she left the colony.  What a sad story.
cheers,
Lettie

Hi Dave,
Henry Pitchers is an ancestor of mine. If you send me contact details via a personal email I will share what I know about him.
Kind regards,

Hi Carolyn,
No record was found of a death for Sophia White, Saunderson or Pitchers, nor was a record found of her leaving the colony, but on the 7th of June 1862 a Sarah Saunders died in Launceston aged 42. She was listed as a labourer’s wife and her death was registered by Wm Halls the undertaker.  It is possible that this woman was Sophia White.  AOT RGD 35 - 639/1862. Sophia's life in the colony was tinged with sadness, loss and separation. I can provide more details if I can work out how to email you.
I would love to know about Sophia's life before transportation. Thanks.
Of Sophia's children born in this colony only Ann Anna survived. She prefered to be known as Emily Ann and she had 11 children. . I can give you details on her family if you wish.
Sophia's mother married William Lowe in 1862. She died in Knighton i 1873. I would like to know about her family and her origins.
Kind regards,
Lettie
