Hi
Does your mother have no idea of the location in Germany ?
Or perhaps where your grandmother was originally from ?
It might help to narrow it down by searching with a place name....

But yes, it's a needle in a haystack job!

Hi
I am waiting (I think) on one final order. from the 15th NOv last year!

Unfortunately , I can't access the probate website directly, my email address comes up as invalid.
Although I receive the "notification of order item fulfilled" via that same email!
I have to contact their help service and then they forward the document direct by email.
They've been quite good.

Nevertheless, when I receive my final copy, I hope never to use the service again....especially at the new price!

Graveyards and Gravestones / Re: grave at Streatham Park Cemetery, London

Hi
This cemetery is enormous.
If you google for info, make sure it's Streatham Park and not just Streatham, two separate cemeteries, google doesn't always notice!
Here'a link to an old Rootschat thread
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=395216.9 which you may find helpful, even tho it's from 2009.
As far as I know , there are still no online records, but as you have the exact details, perhaps you can request that they do a search
good luck

Hi
Whenever I feel inclined to message somebody on Ancestry, I always check their profile to see when they were last online.
I would feel awful if someone had to renew their membership just to chat to me about Centimorgans and disappearing people in my tree.
In general, my communication exchange experiences have been positive.

But I too have never been randomly contacted via Ancestry ie the initial contact was always through me.

Hi
Is it a record to view with Ancestry or  (soend more money) part of their Fold3 collection?
But sounds exciting1

The thing I notice most is that the gents have only the top button fastened.
This apparently indicates late 19thC/Edward times.
Google has loads of sources.

I too would say a men's works outing is likely.

The Common Room / Re: Probate Orders (the last minute ones)
« on: Sunday 22 February 26 11:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
A copy of probate just popped into my inbox (on a Sunday??!!)

I am still waiting on 4 copies altogether

BUT the real drama is that I can`t log into either of my accounts. I get a 500 error and "Please contact your administrator"

Took me ages to find somewhere/one where I could send a message to and so, I expect, another long wait begins.
Has any body else had this problem ?

PS I am very glad that I, as Nick-Ips suggested, took screenshots of my outstanding orders!

Write to them!
I'm sure they'd be delighted to know!
