;D   G'day all I have been looking for about 2 years for my GGF Oliver Ledwidge ,today I went back to the irishgenealogy site and entererd his name and up he came!!!
Oliver married Maria (mary)Daly at St.Nicholas 07/06/1856

Then a Baptism for Oliver 12/11/1833 St. Catherine  F. John Ledwidge  M. Eliz Barker.
Census records had Oliver as a birth year of 1835 but late 33 is 95%right
Got to keep looking now for John & Eliz
Show the value of continuing to go over old ground, you never know what will pop up.
Thanks for the help over this time!
Graham

Ireland / Francis Ledwidge Day 17-08-2010

In Memory of Francis Ledwidge;

At  A Poets Grave.

When I leave down this pipe my friend
And sleep with flower I loved, apart,
My songs shall rise in wilding things
Whose roots are in my Heart

And here where that sweet poet sleeps
I hear the songs he left unsung,
When winds are fluttering the flowers
And summer-bells are rung.

Francis Ledwidge 1/08/1887-31/07/1917
November, 1916.

G'Day All.
There you go, I knew some one would be able to help! This site has so many knowledgeable people .

G'Day Pat nice to hear from you, I am still waiting for dads service record to confirm his details. But the Date on the back of the photo and his enlistment details seem to match up quite well.
You can PM me if you dont want to put personal details on this thread.

And we are getting two for the price of one , so economical.

Regards
Graham

G'Day again,
This one is my twin sister and I outside our home, shortly after this was taken, the pram, with us in it, was demolished by a truck ,amazingly we were not injured. Good british engineering.
I would be gratefull if someone could make us look a little better, although my better half says its too late for me.
Thanks in advance,
Graham

Thanks Kyt,
Dad was a Catering Manager at the Earls Court Exhibition complex , prior to the war, so I suppose he could've been in Admin in the Rafvr.  I am sure he was in India or Ceylon as he was invalided home from there with TB. (memory not so good as to where).

Regards, Graham.
