Thanks still-looking, Lizdb and Rob for your thoughts.. I've trawled ancestry for anything that looks similar but haven't come up with anything close..
I'm struggling to go back any further on this line because George Harris dissapeared and nothing is known about him by his children (apart from his possible bigamist marriage).

I thought it could be Eyrmon, Eyrman or similar but i'm not getting anywhere searching for that name or anything similar.
Would you agree that the 1st letter def looks like an E?

Hi.
Would anyone be able to help me decipher this name please.. It is the name of the groom's father on a marriage certificate.
The marriage took place in South Wales in 1946 but the groom's address was in Oxford.
The groom is George Frederick Charles Harris age 31..Batchelor (but I believe he was already married to someone else! )
I have obtained a birth cert for a George C F Harris (initials other way around) in 1914 and he has a father of Horace Shorden Harris.

Thank you all for your help, and for the links..
I looked at the photo on picture the past website and am I right in thinking that these houses were demolished not long after it was taken in 1971, as the house windows seem to be boarded up?
I've only just come across this address due to the fact I have finally found my Great Grandfathers death registered at this address is 1962...Nothing was known about him when he left his young family in Cardiff in the early 1920's. Looks like he remarried aswell---but don't think he divorced his 1st wife!! Ooh-more mystery for my to unravel...

Hi, would anyone be able to tell me where, or what area of Nottingham, Broad Oak Street was in please.
I have looked on a current map of Nottingham and can only find Broad Oak Close.
Broad Oak Street was still around in 1962 (have cert with address on).

I'm researching the LEWIS and PEARCE families from Bisley/Chalford area.
Thomas Lewis (c:1852) married Catherine Pearce (b:1857) in Chalford Tabernacle in 1876.
Thomas's parents were Thomas Lewis and Elizabeth Ann Bowyer.
Catherine's parents were Henry Pearce and Elizabeth ?
Any link to the above families would be great
