Hyjean - I have Henry's ancestors to way back. His eldest brother John is my direct line. John's son Thomas emigrated also to Australia (1885) to Brisbane. One of his son's (Frank Breese Spencer) went on to become Chairman/Director of Nestle in Australia.

Hyjean, Henry Spencer married Mary Wigg. His parents were John Robey Spencer and Catherine Sandlant, both from Ashby de la Zouch. John R Spencer's parents were John Spencer and Mary Robey who married Xmas day 1789 Ashby de la Zouch. John Robey Spencer's younger brother Thomas is my direct Spencer line who also ended up in Brisbane, (Toowomba) Australia (my grandfather was born there in 1894 but came back to the UK to fight in WWI and married my grandmother whilst here!

Sussex / Re: Charles Golding
« on: Thursday 25 February 10 15:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Poppyann. I've also looked into the Charles and William Goldings and have this:
Charles William b 1852 married Sarah Ann Luck 1876. They had many children inc Kenneth Harold (my line) b 1897. Charles has no father on his birth cert of which I have a copy. Mother Mary b 1834 d 1912 (her parents Richard Golding 1800 and Judith Forward).
Mary married William Wells in 1854. Charles William living with them 1861 (surname Wells) but with his Aunt Olive (Olivia) in 1871. In 1881 he and wife/children living Seacot Heath, Etchingham and in 1891 Flimwell.
There is also a Charles Golding b 1832 married Sarah Ann Oliver in 1856 (brother to Olive and Mary). His mother Judith now a widow is living with him Hawkhurt Road, Ticehurst. In 1891 he's married to Flora with children Fannie, Flora and Charles living Sunnybank, Ticehurst. Hope this clears things up.

Kent / Re: Lambert Golden/Golding

Am also tracing Golding/Golden ancestors
So far I have Lambert married to Mary Morris.
There are two possible lines I have found but can't confirm either:

First:  John Golden b 1689 Canterbury married 17.8.1708 to Sarah Lambert 1689. John's siblings Samuel 1688-1744, Magdaleine 1691, Elizabeth 1693, Jacob 1697. Parents Richard Goulden (note surname change) 1656 b Bishopgate, Berkshire d 1719 married 1687 Magdaleine Coue 1658 - 1721.
Richard's parents Richard Ross Goulden married to Elizabeth Mary. Richard's parents Richard Reginald and his father John James Goulden.

The other line is as follows:
Richard Golding 1696 Goudhurst married to Elizabeth. Richard's father John 1664 Goudhurst married to Mary. John's father Lambert b 1626 Goudhurst married to Agnes with a possible sibling of James - his children Martha 1668 b Hawkhurst and Ben 1675.
Lambert 1626 father Roger 1590 b Goudhurst married to Mary Ann Raven b 1599 Lamberhurst - interesting to note he was killed by a "large fall of hay".

Don't know if this will help! Still trying to confirm which is our line - would like to think it's the Goudhurst line.

Just found your message from 2006 - Maria Jennings b 1813 Steeple Claydon, brothers: John 1815, William 1819 and younger sister Hannah 1821.
William - my ggg grandfather. 1841 census shows William married to Mary Pangburn (also a St Clay family) with Hannah Jennings aged 75 living with them - assume she is his mother.
Hope this helps.
