hi cas, yes i have that bit thankyou, i just came up with something. what do you think of this-
catherine's middle name Ellen, could she have married under that name?
i've found an index- ellen sockett married a "matthews" in 2nd 1/4 of 1916 in pontypridd 11a 1141.
thats about the right time, spouse and place, but her first name is missing. what do you think?

thankyou
maria

hi, trying to find my grt grand parents marriage.

thomas matthews b20 aug 1893 in builth and Catherine Ellen Sockett birth  c DEC 1896 carnarvon, but lived from a young child around the nelson mid glam area.
i believe they were married (if at all) around the nelson area as their children were born in quakers yard.
later he died about 1936 ish but cant find his death records either. then Catherine married an Evan Griffiths, but no records to be found on this marriage either or Evan's later death.

please, any info on these 3 people would be very helpful.
thankyou

hi, i was in a grave yard on Tuesday, in Cefn Hengoed.  it was the same there too. the state of the place was a crying shame.  there were a few graves still tended by relatives but the rest of the place was a complete jungle.  so dangerous.  no paths as such, graves that had caved in, smashed head stones the full works.  the worst part was, around the back of the church is the infants grave yard, and that was no better.

the only thing good to report is that the two lads who were hanging about sitting on one of the tombs were really helpful.  they walked nearly every inch of the place to help me find the graves i wanted to photograph
