Travelling People / Re: William (Bunble) Cooper
« on: Wednesday 28 November 12 07:58 GMT (UK)  »

Hi
Lets throw a stone in the pond and see where the ripples land

William Cooper was my mum's Unca Bundle

Mum's cousin Unity married Venus (uncle Veenie) Pidgely who travelled with Bottons big fair with a big refreshment stall and a chipper my mum used to work there
Cousin Levi was my age and we were close

The Pidgely family lived in Walton on Thames and ran a business
there

Another of mums cousins was Aunt Patience (pashey) who married Barney Jewel and lived in a house in Mitcham

I could go on about Derby Smith and the "Sperit" but that's for another day

re boswellsfind "ancestors of alfred cooper" in roots check and in the miscellanious section you will find a long report of the funeral of Levi "Bo"Boswell from the London City Mission Magazine
These always seemed to work the fields with us at fruit and hop picking times
There is a Bo Boswell buried in Farnborough Kent said on his headstone to be"King of the Gipsies"

Hi coopers pup
Thanks for information,  I  don't know if that Boswell is connected to my family tree, but you never know, I'll certainly check it out, once again thanks.

It looks like what is known as a Reading Wagon
Sorry, I didn't manage to post the photo of the caravan.  It was in the wrong version.  So hopefully this time i will be successful.  I have just e-mailed my cousin to see if she has a better photo.
Angela
Hi, Here is the photo promised of the caravan. I'm not sure how old it is but my ancestors who were Higglers (pedlars) must have used it or I don't see how it could have been in the family.  This is my Nan's brother, my greatuncle Ted.
