Hi i am no expert and don't know if this helps AT ALL, but i found this when i was searching wikipedia a few days ago:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorian_fashion

I know wikipedia isn't exactly reliable but there's a picture of the correct lengths for girls skirts at different ages, didn't know if it might be useful?

Leanne.

Thank you both so much for the date.

unfortunately the photo was emailed to me by a friend and i dont have the original so looks like i wont be able to get much of a restore but thank you anyway. i was just hoping i might be able to get a better look at the faces and try and work out exactly who they were.

Thank you very much anyway for your date, that may help by itself.

Thanks,
Leanne.

Hi everyone,

I've had some beautiful restores from roots chatters in the past and i was under the impression i had put this one up, but i have searched through my posts and i can't seem to find one with this picture in and i only have this version saved on my computer so i must have been mistaken. However if somebody does recognise it i really apologise.

I'm afraid i have no idea whatsoever about dates, i've been trying to get a grip on a bit of dating by keeping an eye on the boards but i certainly don't trust my own dating!!! I beleive it was taken in slinfold in sussex and so i know which side of my family it comes from (the holloways) but i have no idea who the couple are so can't date it from that.

I'd be really greatful if anyone could date/ restore or colour it. (i apologise if it is the incorrect resolution etc but it was emailed to me and i have no other copy.)

Thank you so much,
Leanne.

Thank you very much. This was around the time she met my grandfather and it's lovely to see a photo of my grandmother this age.  a lovely clean and it pops out a little more now i think.

Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone fancied having a go at either brightening/sharpening up these photos of my granmother, or even giving her a little colour.

Colour wise, she has very dark brown hair and brown eyes. Thank you. :)
