US Lookup Requests / 1861 US Census look up
« on: Thursday 27 October 05 20:38 BST (UK)  »
Would it be possible for someone to check the 1861 US census for me.  I am looking for Patrick Henry LYONS on the 1861 US census.
I have the following information that will hopefully help.
Patrick Henry Lyons born about 1835 in the US (Possibly Boston)
He had three children:
William Henry LYONS born about 1853 (possibly Boston.)
Margaret (Ann) Lyons born about 1858
Catherine LYONS born about 1861.
Margaret and Catherine may have been born in the US or in England (most probably US)
Patrick and his family came to England around 1861 but I have been unable to find them on the 1861 UK census.
Patrick was a Shipping Master in the Port of Liverpool so his occupation may well be something to do with Shipping.
I would be very grateful for any help.
Many thanks

Hi Peter,
I have SHEPHERDs from Wheatley which is a couple of miles from Tiddington.
One of them Joseph Shepherd born 1830 married Sarah Nutt from Great Milton.
Don't know if that is of any help to you.

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Re: Skinner Family of Godstone

Hi Shirley,
Many thanks.
Edword is the correct one but The Thomas one is not. I have found Thomas Skinner on the 1881 but he is listed as Stinnet not Skinner.
I am really looking for a birth registration.
Many thanks again

Buckinghamshire / Bucks interests - CHOWNE and PAULING
« on: Monday 03 January 05 15:45 GMT (UK)  »
My name interests for Buckinghamshire are PAULING from Oakley and CHOWNE of Wooburn.

I am especially interested at the moment in a baptism in 1774 at Wooburn for a Nicholas and Edward CHUNE.
If anyone has access to Parish Records and could check the baptism for me I would be extremely grateful.
Many Thanks

Library and FHS Lookups / Re: LOOK UP OFFER: SURREY RECORDS
« on: Thursday 26 August 04 17:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi Ray,

Many, Many thanks for the information.
I am beginning to think that Stephen and Harry are being mixed up with Thomas's (born 1830) sons.
He had sons called Stephen and Harry so there may well be confusion there.
On Thomas's marriage certificate it stated his father was Thomas occ Farmer Edwards marriage certificate shows his father as Thomas, occ Labourer however, it looks very likely that the ones you have found are the ones I am looking for.
Again many, many thanks.
Regards

Maureen
