Thanks Hanes thats great find, yes you are right Heywood I am trying to find a connection and you might have got one as James Morrison born abt 1846 son of Francis and Ann put down on one of the censuses I have as Mayo being the place of birth, although  all his siblings were born in Longford.

I have come across a problem with one of my ancestors, Catherine Morrison was born 1842 in Longford Ireland to parents Francis and Ann,  she moves over to Preston Lancashire England and is Married in Blackburn 1861 to a Lawrence Brennan but in the 1881 census she is living in Singleton Row ,Preston , Lancashire under the name Morrison along with her children and she is the head of the family, I know that she could have been devorced or perhaps Lawrence died but why would she go back to her maiden name along with the children ? I also found a paper clipping of a fatal accident of her son John who's name is Morrison also.

Many years ago I was searching for my fathers birth cert (on line) but could not trace it, I was told by a person that he would have had to show some kind of proof to who he was before he could marry so I automaticly thought birth cert, I did find it  years later after calling into many offices around Ireland .

That person was a christian brother so I thought at the time
                                                   it was true.
