Hi,
Have you came across any Thomas Humphreys who died pre 1893?
I to am struggling to find a chink in my Humphreys brick wall.
Thomas's daughter, Sarah Ann Humphreys born c.1862 is my Gt. Grandmother. Sarah Ann living in Belfast, states on 1901 census that she was born in Dublin (father listed as THOMAS a 'Soldier' and 'desceased' on her 2nd marriage cert 1893 and the family has a very old photo of him in uniform with sergent stripes). Widowed by 1911 census, Sarah states that she was born in India? Sarah married her 1st husband in Wexford in 1878 and had at 4 children and another 3 to her 2nd husband - all names listed on the censuses and births found.
Because Thomas was a soldier, India or Dublin births for his daughter are plausibe, but I can't find any birth for Sarah - and nothing about Thomas.
Thanks for your time,
Chris
