Thank you Jaynnis that's just what I needed.  Tried to contact you/Saxilby Group direct but, for some reason, my laptop wouldn't let my email on your website be sent.  I shall order a copy from the Archives.

I'd thought they were like most others in my tree at that time, Ag Labs or Dom Servants so I wonder what their backgrounds were?  Obviously educated folk if they coulod write their names.  Do you have any idea about Mary Wilkinson?  Is her family listed anywhere in your archives for that time?

Anyone in Utterby know anything about the Hawsteads in the 1700s?  I'm from Louth so I know about the Ludensian Horsteads after their arrival there from Brigg around 1885.  But I wasn't aware there were any in Utterby earlier.

Thanks again Jaynnis.  So in 2 years time I can celebrate their 250th wedding anniversary in St Botolphs!

I have an old family photo that says the daughter of my grandfather's cousin, George Alderson, married Jimmy (James Lord) Corrigan, who famously owned Batley Variety Club from 1967-c1980.  I remember my mother mentioning it too.  However, I have researched it and found it not to be true as his wives were Betty Wimpenny and Elaine P A Dorey.

Further research shows there was an Irene Alderson who married an Albert Corrigan in Q3 1938 (Leeds North 9b 689).  Could this Irene be the daughter of George Alderson of Leeds (born 1884 Grimsby?) Could Albert be Jimmy's uncle (born abt 1895 and younger brother to Jimmy's father Joseph (Joey) Corrigan (b.1890)?

George Alderson's marriage record would help but the only one I have found to Annie Brookes is wrong (Q3 1906 Leeds 9b 985) as his father was alive at that time and on the marriage record both fathers are 'Deceased'.  The only 1911 census does not fit either as it appears to be for that same couple.

I have the book of Jimmy's life 'Live Like a Lord' by Bob Preedy, which gave me most of the details above.  But nowhere have I found the link between Irene and Albert.

I need some miracles!  George's marriage record, his 1911 census record and Irene's birth record to give the correct mother's maiden name!  HELP!

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Saxilby Marriage of Hawstead & Wilkinson 1765
« on: Wednesday 22 August 12 19:57 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please?  I need to find evidence of the births and marriage of WILLIAM HAWSTEAD (May be a different spelling e.g. HORSTEAD) and MARY WILKINSON. According to someone else's tree on Ancestry, they were married in SAXILBY (St Botolph Church), Lincolnshire on 9 Nov 1765 but no source or proof was offered.

According to that tree but again with no proof, William was born on 9 Sep 1729 in nearby Lincoln and Mary on 5 Feb 1731 in Willingham-by-Stow, a few miles away.

Thanks
