Monica,
Emailed the man that has the Patterson Bible again. These records came from his in laws.
He is excited about  the William possibility and promised to go through boxes information again. Lets hope he finds more clues.
Once again thank you for all your help! I could not have found any of this with out you!  :)

Monica,
I really think you are right about James father being William.
I emailed the man that has the bible and he is not sure about James being the father of James. The Bible has James Patterson's name in front.
I did some looking at the archives of  the University of Edinburgh and did find William Patterson in that time frame.
Any thoughts?
Pam

Monica,
I 'm thankful that my dad's side of the family kept to the Scottish naming pattern, it really helped in my research. Although at times it became a bit confusing so many Johns,Roberts,James and Williams!
Still waiting on more information on the Patterson Bible.

I really apreciate you taking the time to check further on James Patterson. :)

Hi Monica,
James Patterson and Christain Munro were married in Cathcart June 9th,1826.
Children:
Eupheamea b. April 1, 1827 ( my paternal gg grandmother)
William b. Feb. 16, 1829
Alexander b. April 21, 1831
All born in Cathcart.

Know they were living in St. Johns NS Canada  in late 1830's

These records come from a family bible.

According to this source James Patterson's father was also named James
and was a Presbyterian minister & professor at the University of Edinburgh.

James father died at age 40.

I'm looking for census records and any information James Pattersons(b.1805) Parents and siblings.

Any help would be appreciated,
Pam
