Firstly, I realise that its probably futile responding to a six year old post, but hey, you never know!

In my family tree i have a John Formby born circa 1819  in North Meols (or perhaps Liverpool) . He married the widow Mary Caroline McCormick (nee Morris) on 17 July 1842 in Liverpool.

some additional info as written by me to the lovcal newspaper a few years back

"
I am seeking information about John Formby, born in North Meols in 1819. In 1842 he married my Gt, gt, gt Grandmother Mary Caroline McCormick. In the 1881 census, having been recently widowed he was back in North Meols. Occupation - Pensioner Army. Address 210 Hart Street. Head of Household John Keen. If anyone can cast any more light on him i would be most grateful.
Many Thanks"

I was wondering about any possible connection?!

Dublin / Capuchin Franciscan Pilgrimage
« on: Friday 07 August 09 15:42 BST (UK)  »
I have in my possesion a card (itinerary) for the 1958 Capuchin Franciscan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1958. The name appears to be that of my Father's Aunt Jeanie (Jane) McNally, of Ballykea. I have no idea how it came into our possesion. It gives the itinerary, Obviously!) and the names of the hotels in Paris & Lourdes. She is listed as seat No 82! Can anyone throw any light on this particular pilgrimage, or any of these pilgrimages as i literally know nothing about them. Any help would be most appreciated.

I had a try at the FamilySearch Record Search, as you suggested and found the record for the deaths of Laurence and Margaret in the Jan-Mar quarter of 1942. If i get the death certificates will they give me any added info (such as Margaret's maiden name?) I haven't been able to find their marriage or the children's births yet. I'll keep looking.
Thanks and Best Wishes

Dublin / Ballykea, Near Skerries

For many years i believed that my Grandfather, Arthur McNally had originated from Skerries, but then it turned out that he was from nearby Ballykea. Over recent times the picture has got a little clearer, including, a look at the 1911 census. What i know so far is this:

My Great Grandfather - Lawrence McNally Born Co Dublin circa 1859, Died c1943
" "" """ Grandmother    Margaret McNally (nee ?) Co Dublin  "   1863  Died c1943

My Grandfather - Arthur McNally, born circa 1891/2 died Salford UK 1959

He had 4 sisters Mary (1893) Catherine (1901) Margaret (1903) Jane (1905)

My Grandfather is still listed as living at home in 1911, and in March of 1917 his first son, Lawrence, was born, in Salford UK, so he must of left during this time. I believe he went to sea.

In the 1911 census there is another Lawrence (or Laurence) McNally, a shopkeeper, in the tiny hamlet. I have no idea if they were related

In the late 1980's my late father went to Ireland when he & his brothers had to deal with the sale of a cottage. The documents talk of the (then) recent deaths of Mary & Jane (Jenny or Jeanie) McNally so i presume they never married. I think Catherine's married name was Colgan.

I myself grew up in Manchester, and sadly have never even stepped foot on the Emerald Isle. Now i live thousands of miles away, so research is not easy.

If anyone could move me forward or fill in any of the details i would be most grateful
