Some of those stories are also available through British Newspaper Archive website.  In 1904 he was described as an "incorrigible rogue" in the Irish News.  West Somerset Free press reported "Widow's Lost Wealth".  I can't see anything after 1911

Hi Liverpool Annie

I'm sorry - I really don't know, although I know OF the Boer memorial.

I know that the Bridgefoot memorial is still used, as I see the wreaths there each year.

I actually live in Runcorn and attend the memorial services there, so I'm not really that familiar with the Warrington rememberance services.

There is indeed a war memorial at Bridge Foot.

It consists of a curved wall on which are bronze
plaques bearing the names of 1,100 military personnel
who gave their lives. In front of the wall stands
an obelisk bearing a bronze sword and the words “To
Our Glorious Dead”

I drive past it on my way to work, but I've never stopped to really look at it properly.

Check out http://museum.warrington.gov.uk/Images/your_history4_tcm22-7241.pdf for some info.

Also try http://www.warrington.tv/movies/movies2006.html - there is a link to a tv broadcast from there last year.
