Sligo / Re: Marriage lookup
« on: Tuesday 12 March 13 23:09 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks Heywood for replying.  The problem is I don't have a parish - I have actually traced them back to Ireland via Glasgow.  All I know is that Patrick Gallagher was born Sligo around 1837/38 and his father was Patrick Gallagher and his mother Margaret Kelly.

« on: Tuesday 12 March 13 22:44 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a marriage lookup for Patrick Gallagher and Margaret Kelly from Sligo.  I am guessing somewhere round 1835- 1837 as there son Patrick was born round about that time.  Thank you

Hi I am visiting Glasgow later on this month and I want to see my husband's grandfather's grave so I would also be interested if you have a map of St Kentigerns.

Thank you

Lanarkshire / Gallacher/Gallacher

My husband's great grandfather Patrick Gallagher married Annie Davie in Glasgow (both were from Ireland).  They had 6 children that I know of and their name was spelt Gallacher:

Patrick Gallacher born 15/3/1868
Michael Gallacher
James Gallacher
Mary Ann Gallacher
John Joseph Gallacher
Sarah Gallacher

John Joseph Gallacher married Margaret Fay (who was from Co Down) in 1903 and had 5 children - she later returned to Co Down where their descendents are living to-day.  John Joseph Gallacher is buried in Glasgow where he died in 1938.

I would be unterested to find out if there are any other relations still living in Glasgow to-day.

I forgot to mention Aghadowey the Thomas McCallum in the 1911 Census was my uncle.  I found out my grandfather was born in Co Derry from the 1911 Census.

Hi Aghadowey thank you for your reply and sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you.  I am going to PRONI next Tuesday and I will check out St Anne's.  My grandfather was born in 1861 and he was a teacher so I might be able to track him through that.  It is frustrating when all I know of him that he was born in Co Derry and his father's name was Thomas but I do appreciate your imput.

Thanks again.

Derry (Londonderry) / McCallum/McCollum
« on: Saturday 27 February 10 18:45 GMT (UK)  »
After years thinking my grandfather came from Co Antrim I discover in the 1911 Census that he in fact came from Co Derry.  His name was Patrick McCallum/McCollum (his marriage cert is McCollum but everything else is McCallum) and he was born in 1861.  His father's name was Thomas McCallum/McCollum.  There are 2 Thomas McCollums in Griffiths Valuation and both lived in Kilrea.  My grandfather was Catholic so does anyone know the name of the Catholic Church in Kilrea - I would be grateful for any help.
