Hi all,
I saw your postings tonight with regard to the Meatyard/Meteyard family from Henstridge. I know they were posted some time ago but I am interested in Amelia Meatyard born 1838, Edwin's sister. I am stuck on her husband(?) James Parsons. I cannot find him with her on any census or their marriage. As you have all been researching for a while do any of you know about him?
Many Thanks
Regards
Jenny

well thats good. I thought we must have a common interest . What do you think of my thoughts on Thomas? By the way my husbands line is through Thomas 1755, Thomas 1784 and then Sarah 1820 who married John Miller.

Hi
I saw your post about Thomas Baker who died at Twyford Farm. I have his wife as Mary but I do not know her surname yet. I have found a Baker family living at Shalbourne, Wilts.
After doing a parent search their children seem to look right with Tomas's family.

What is your interest in this family as Thomas 1755 was my husband's 4Xgreatgrandfather.

Lizzy,
George Sheath is confirmed on the roll:

2167 Sergeant George Sheath, 2nd Battn Hampshire Regt (mounted infantry). He received the medal for Rhodesia 1896 and also the clasp for Mashonaland 1897 (see comment on my last post to Clive).

 ;D

Hi Neil,

Many thanks for that. I thought grandfather had the Mashonaland medal but hadn't realized it was a bar to another.
I'm going to look into this more now and try and find what he got them for. A history lesson for me I think.

Thanks again
Lizzy

Lizzy,
Welcome to Rootschat!
I can offer the same lookup if Lister's offer is no longer current.
Neil

That's very kind of you many thanks.
I'm interested in George Henry Sheath. He was in the Hampshire Regiment. I am not sure of his army number but could probably find it if needed. Is a name enough? He was born 25 April 1867 on the Isle of Wight.

Thanks for any help
Lizzy

Hi Lister,

I have just joined Rootschat and I'm wondering if this offer is still going?

Regard
Lizzy
