These are all wonderful and better than what I could have hoped for so - thank you!  I love the black and white - although I wonder if it's possible to colorize it as well? 

Mom says she first fell in love with my dad because of this picture but she no longer has it (it was a small picture o begin with).  This will be a wonderful surprise for her.  :D

Can anything be done to clean this up? I can't remember where I got the pic from several years ago but it may be a scan of a scan and although it's scanned at a high resolution it isn't very good.  The picture is of my dad when he was young and means a lot to me so I would like to restore it if possible to make an actual pic out of it.

I recently just lost my Aunt and cousin (both the females in this pictures) and would like to have copies made from this original to give to my family. This needs a clean up but I was wondering if we can do a separate pic of the little girl as I would like to blow it up to an 8x10 for her daughters.  Anything else that anyone would think of would be appreciated (Ie: colouring, special effects, etc) I scanned it at 1200 resolution and reduced the file size (hope this is done correctly). I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I was helping Carole with her research and suggested this site.  She promptly signed up and began this thread which really sparked her interest.

Sadly, Carole passed away mid August suddenly and unexpectedly.  She will be sadly missed by those of us who knew and loved her.

I will be continuing her research in her memory and with her family's permission so if there is anyone who is still interested in helping I would appreciate it -
