I have a James Fettes (1865) who married a Wilhelmina McCormick born Ireland 1864. In 1895, they had a son William Duthie Fettes. Coincidence? James was the son of Jean Fettes. As far as I can work out, her father was Alexander. Any connection?

Hi English Daisy

That was quick!!!

Absolutely amazed to see your posting about the little envelopes you had. Wondering if you still had them. I am compiling a book for my friend on her Syers/Gregory Jones's. She is the ggreat grand-daughter of John Gregory Jones. Would it be an imposition to ask if there was any chance of scanned images of them - she would be absolutely delighted to actually see a little bit of history? I have discovered that he was amongst the original founders of the Liverpool Chess League...one of the hottest in the country during the 19thC. Sadly, the family lost their fortune by heavily investing in the mines which went bust in Chile and Peru.

It would be fantastic if I could share any information with Bruce Duncan, if he still visits these boards, or anyone else connected. Seems he may have an English cousin living in Australia

I came upon this old posting while doing a Google search, hoping that Daisy is still registered on the site! I am researching this tree for the great grand daughter of John Gregory Jones. P-L-E-A-S-E can anyone with any info on this family or with connections get in touch.
