In Brian Cantwell's Memorials of the Dead there is mention of an Anne McDermott of Bray who erected a headstone in memory of her mother Elenor Collins, died 1857, and her husband (name not on headstone) died 1882 aged 87.  No other mention of McDermotts at Kilmacanogue Old Cem. but of course that doesn't mean that others aren't buried there

Apologies John.  I addressed you as Dermo in my previous message.   I think you should also contact Justin who contributed that headstone/inscription.   Joseph Burke was his granduncle.  Regarding the sister Elizabeth, named on the headstone, he felt that her age as recorded on the headstone was incorrect.  He said she was born in 1879.

I don't have the answer to information re who is buried in each grave, but at a guess, the Church in Hollywood most likely holds a cemetery register covering this.  I suggest you write to the church and if they haven't got this information, I am sure they will be able to tell you who to contact.
The name and email address of the person who contributed that last item can be found at the top of the Text Page on IGP Archives.  You might like to get in touch with him.  This headstone was missed when we worked on the Headstones at Hollywood, and I am aware that a few more in this section of the graveyard may also have been missed.    I hope to get back there once we have some nice Spring weather, and will watch out for your names.

In the meantime I will take a look at the other names you have listed, and will get back to you later.  Do you have any rough dates of death and forenames etc.

Best wishes

Kildare / Re: NOWLAN and CAVANAGH families, Castledermot area

Thanks Joanna for your reply.  I haven't made any progress with the CAVANAGHs and NOLAN/NOWLANs, so at this stage I can't say if there is a link to mine.   Do you know when WILLIAM CAVANAGH married KATE MORAN, and where the marriage took place?   If after 1864, we could then order a copy of the Registration which would give us the names of the fathers.    It is interesting that you are a NOLAN and that GERARD is part of your father's name.

Thanks again for all your efforts.   However, I don't want to waste your time as I had already found them in England in 1901 and downloaded the Census details.    I think I am on top of finding all I need to know, and thanks again for your interest.  It has been appreciated.

I will chase up other family members - thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks a million.    I was just about to post a message to say I had found him in 1911 in Armagh with his wife and his sister.    I had looked in 1901 census and couldn't find the family, so started looking to see if they had left the country.  Stupid me didn't try 1911 Census before posting my message.

Anyway, it would be nice to make contact with someone else researching this family.   I am connected to the BREEN family.

Thanks again for yours

Wicklow / BROOKE Family

In 1878 a FRANCES BREEN married ALLEN LEWIS BROOKE at Blessington.   He was a Farmer and the son of another ALLEN LEWIS BROOKE, Confectioner.     I am interested in finding out more about this BROOKE family.  For example, did they live in Blessington or did he just put Blessington as his Residence at the time of the marriage?   Does anyone have a connection to the above marriage?

Thanks Dermo for your kind words.   I thought I would let you know that Hollywood St.Kevin's Catholic Cemetery, Part 3, has now been uploaded.
Good luck with your research
