Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: KENT Census 1851 & 1841 KIMBER George
« on: Tuesday 11 October 05 00:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi John,

There is 2 marriages recorded in all of Kent for John Kimber both being to a Sarah Bird. John was baptised in Riverhead Sevenoaks "the natural son of Mary Kimber" 28 Aug 1781. He died 13 April 1854 and was buried 16 April 1854 at St Martian Tours Chelsfield. J Baugh was the rector signed in the register. John at the time of death was in the Bromely workunion. The witness at this marriage in Wilmington is John Hand and James Palmer. The marriage banns were the only record at Bexley.

There is a Sarah Bird born 1783 in Farnborough daughter  of George Bird. Still chasing more info on this family. But could explain the 1st son being named George. Sarah died 31 Oct 1829 also buried St Martian Tours Chelsfield. James Williams was the curate that signed in the register.

The St Martian Tours Chelsfield registers show the surname spelling as Camber. John death certificate shows Kimber. Where all became very confusing with all the different spellings.
my email is lee1800 at hotmail..com if you would like to contact me I can send you copies of all the documents.

By the way does your mother come from Stephen Kimber & Harriet Davis? I have contact with another person from this line. And have photo's of Stephen & Harriet and where John & Sarah lived.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / KIMBER Mary - KENT 1841 Census
« on: Wednesday 08 June 05 02:08 BST (UK)  »
Mary Kimber - bapt. reads John Kimber natural son of Mary Kimber 28 August 1781 Riverhead Sevenoaks.

Is there any ref to a Mary Kimber age abt 80 in the 1841 census.

Is there any ref to John Kimber in the 1841 Census. He would be at Chelsfield age approx. 61. He died 1854.

His wife's name is Sarah.. she may have died already as the only Sarah I can find that married a John Kimber is Sarah Bird in 1808 and she died abt 1829.

If any one can help with these Kimbers I would be greatful.

Lee
