Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Photo dating help please
« on: Saturday 30 May 09 18:50 BST (UK)  »
Hope somebody can help with dating this photo

There is no photographer information. I am hoping it might be early 1900s from Pennsylvania USA (as my JOBES ancestors had relatives out there)

If it is c 1905 the family would be

Robert 43,
Annie 39
John 19
Mary 18
George 14
Evaline 8

Grateful for any indicators to help prove/disprove this theory!

Many thanks
Rebecca

Can anyone help me date this photo? I know there's not much to go on - except maybe the hair. I believe it is my gggrandmother b 1865.

Many thanks

Hi Junev and Helen K
Thanks very much for looking

Yes that is them on 1881 census, they were there in 1871 as well

For 1891 census, James's mother was Mary b 1841 Gateshead, so Margaret doesn't fit unfortunately.  I can't find any of them 1891, but probably have a bit more creative searching to do - there are a lot of James Hunters out there!

Thanks Stan - I will investigate South Shields. I am beginning to wonder if James was mumbling when asked where he lived!

Thank you so much for the swift and informative reply.
What a coincidence that your surname interests are in East London - the picture is hopefully of Richard Dellow and his wife Rhoda who married In Shoreditch in 1841 - he was a basketmaker who moved his family up to Gateshead in the 1850s. I think there is a Dellow Street in east London that is meant to have a family connection.

Thanks again

Thanks for looking
My Grandma was born near Burdon Street too, and she can't recall a Broughton Street either.
