Hi Katie,

My Craig's were born Abbey Paisley, I can locate them in Johnston 1841 by 1851 Samuel is married and living in Greenock.

Samuel has a brother William born 1826, but no sign of a George.

Was William married prior to leaving Scotland?

Hi Katie

This is just a long shot, there may be a connection.

I have a William McFee (McFie) Craig born 1855 Greenock, his parents were Samuel Craig & Jane McFie.

The information came from SP website, it is a pay to view site, but well worth the money.

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Had a quick look on the above website re your Alexander’s, nothing fits for a marriage between William & Jane in Greenock.

There are two Margaret Alexander, one 1856 the other 1860 Greenock,

I have some recollection of reading about births/deaths at sea, from memory, if the ship is British registered, the birth/death would be registered in the ships home port, perhaps Annie was registered in Ireland.

I am also researching this family.

John Ewing & Mary Lang Hart married 1873, I have been able to locate 7 children, their son William is the grandfather of my mothers sister.

I don't have anything directly on Robert, only that he was born 1888c.

Hi Tormod,

I just happened to be looking at this family today, ancestor of one of my extended families

Alexander Kemp & Catharine Gollan married 1841 Urray, Ross.

Alexander was a Tailor, four of their children were born Sleat, Inverness.

Donald 1852c Portree, Inverness, is with Alexander & "Kelly" on the 1871 census Portree, Inverness
