Also one of Alfred Frank Hawker who may have been in the RFC at the end of WW1.

I am trying to attach a photo of Sidney James Hawker to see if it helps.

I hadn't realised that military records could be accessed on-line. I'll spend some time on a further search. Thank you once again.

Not to worry as that can easily happen. I hadn't realised that members of the forces were not included.

Thank you Gadget. You always came to my aid in the past.
Unfortunately this is not the one. I just wondered if he had enlisted somewhere other than Birmingham. He was eventually in a tank regiment.

Why are two brothers not found? Are they already serving overseas? Their names are: Sidney James Hawker dob 1908 and Alfred Frank Hawker dob 1900.
Thank you.

On this day every year our family remember Gunner J H Blakemore.

I have only today noticed the amendment added by Zoe about the sudden passing of Max Double.

My husband, John and I would like to once again pay tribute to this gentleman who gave so much of his time and knowledge to us and, I am sure, to others on this site.

Rest assured he is often mentioned when we talk with our family about the help we received from Max.

Sincere sympathy.

Yes it is him. Thank you very much Comberton. Which newspaper was he in? How did I miss this entry.

I'm disappointed not to find a Birmingham newspaper article for my husband's grandfather Joseph Henry Blakemore who died 25th August 1918 at Rouen. I have read it before so it must exist.
