Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Annie Whitaker

Thank you so much for looking but I have already checked this one out and it isnt the right Annie either.  Her father Thomas did not die until 18.6.1939 so he wouldnt have been deceased at the time she got married.

Thank you so much for looking though.

Best wishes

Hi Mc,

Yes it could be her but there also lots of other marriages around the Yorkshire area with an Annie Whitaker.  I really dont want to order all the certificates unless I really have to, if you know what I mean.  It could become a little too costly.   :(

If someone could perhaps look at the local register to see who her parents are or who the witnesses are, it would be helpful to eliminate this one.

Thank you so much for trying to help.

Regards, Hoppity.

So sorry I have not been in contact but have treatment for cancer.  I am just recovering.  Needless to say I havent been able to look into this any further but I will be in the near future hopefully.  If I find anything I will let everyone know.

Kind regards

I have been trying to help someone regarding the following but so far have been unlucky:

Annie was born on 17.6.1898 in Keighley.  Her parents were Thomas Whitaker and Rhoda Slapp.

On the 1911 Census she was living with her parents and was working as a Spinner.  She lived at 11 North View Street.

I cannot find anything on her after that time.  There were many marriages of a Annie Whitaker none of which seem to fit.  I have also looked for a death but nothing seems to be correct.

Can anyone help on this one?

Many thanks.

Hoppity.

Hi Opal,

I used to live in Albury and I believe that St. Mary's church still have some of the baptism records at the church.  You could try ringing the vicar as he is very helpful.

Contact Priest-in-charge Rev Chris Boulton Tel: 01279 842609; or Giles Pitman, Churchwarden Tel: 01279-771293

Hope this helps.

These are in the HAL's Library at Hertford.  They have all kinds of records for FH researches, i.e. B/D/M, Parish Records, Bishops Transcripts, plus lots of other information.

You can contact them for more information.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The best thing to do is to contact the local Family History Library or Registry Office for that area, who would be able to help you and let you know where these records are kept and whether they could possibly do a search in the Parish Records for the banns and the marriage.

There is also a another site which might be useful to you, called Birmingham and Midland Society.

Hope this helps a little.

Hi,

There is a Simon Warby who married a Mary Farey/Fairy in 15.7.1713 Tewin on the Family Search site but there is no further information than that sadly.  There were no children given.

Hope this helps a little.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Sadly Phillis Daniels is not part of my family, nor a Robert Mardell.  I have a Florence Daniels in the 1900's and the whole family of Daniels leads on from her.

It may be that the one of the William Mardell's parents have been mis-transcribed.  You could perhaps check the Bishops Transcripts to see if there is any difference compared with the Parish Records?

On the other hand he could have been a child from their nearby family, i.e. cousin, sister, etc., who they have adopted and had him christened with them as the parents?

The other thing is there could have been two couples called Robert and Phillis.  Unlikely but possible!

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
