Years ago we shared the cost of a research from Donegal Ancestry.  So all my information comes from there and the Culbert on name study.  So I trust that the Donegal Ancestry is correct information.  It ties in with the William who settled in Lancashire and to our family.

Thank you for the replies.  This is where I have the information on Catherine Culbert, I have details of her son Andrew’s Marriage where again her name is on as is the name of the Father William McNutt.
I am searching now either for a marriage of Catherine to William McNutt or a birth for Catherine Culbert.

I appreciate your help thank you all

I am searching for Catherine Culbert born in Ireland possibly County Donegal.  She would be born around  1776.  I have found her on the Culbert one name site but no information on her parents or marriage.

Catherine was named as the Mother of Andrew McNutt in Dunfanahagy Prestbyterian Church.

Thank you

Looking at the female births in Wigtownshire in the early 1700, it looks more likely that Jannet (No Janet's in that period) and Mary were sisters. There were McNaught's born in the County during that period but no Duncan's.

There are possible marriages for John in Kirkcudbrightshire but more than 20 miles from Penninghame.

Colin

Thank you for this information it looks like Duncan was Father to children from Janet &her sister Mary, I wonder if she died.  I have the son John Baptised 1741 in Penninghame Wigtown his Mother was Janet.  Now searching for the Marriage of John McNaughton

Thanks again for your help

Thank you very much Colin I do appreciate this.  I hadn’t found a marriage in Ancestry.  I have been
searching this morning on Scotlands people, no luck with Baptism or Marriage.  At so point son John b 1740 finished up in Donegal Ireland  ..at least that is what I suspect.

I wonder if Mary and Janet Maxwell are the same person, certainly the surname is the same…. Just thinking out aloud!

Regards Meryl
