Lincolnshire / The children of Henry Dannatt born 1852 South Owersby Lincolnshire
« on: Friday 20 April 12 17:29 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please. I have just looked at the 1911 census and found out that my grt grandad Henry Dannatt born 1852 South Owersby Lincs married to Harriet Ferraby had 10 children born alive and 6 were still living and 4 had died.
I have just been to the library to check for christenings for the years 1869 to 1899 for South Kelsey and the micro fiche was too dark and I could not make anything out. I have checked all the census from 1871 to 1911 and there are no extra names.....I have found George b 1870, Harry b 1878, Jessie b 1881, Alice b 1883, Charles F b 1886, Gertie b 1889 and Florrie b 1893 so I have 3 children missing.
I am guessing the missing children were born and died in between the censuses. Without spending a lot of money buying a lot of birth & death certificates for children registered at Caistor in the between the years 1871 to 1899 what can I do?
My gut feeling tells me the births could be between 1871 to 1877 for there appears 2/3 years between the other births. ???

Thanks for that Geoff. Does it say on your copy of 1841 census the address of George Dannatt & family living in Glentham? I have just looked again on findmypast it it says Spittal Inn.

I am researching Dannatt's from Lincolnshire. My grt grandfather x 2 was living at Spittal Inn Glentham Lincolnshire in the 1841 census. I wondered if anybody knew anything about Spittal Inn and whereabouts it actually was?

Thank you Graham, I had not thought about Probate records.

That's correct Graham I was unable to read the marriage record fully. I could make out the names of George Dannatt and Sarah Fanthorpe but was unable to make out the names of any witnesses or a deal else.

I am trying to connect Peter Dannet born 1714. Married to Margaret Ward 09 Jul 1752 at Nettleton Lincs. to George Dannatt born about 1757. George Dannatt is my 3rd great grandfather  who married Sarah Fanthorpe 07 June 1782 at North Willingham Lincs. I have seen the parish record for George & Sarah's wedding but I could not make anything else out apart from their names.

Peter Dannet had a son named George who was christened 06 March 1757 Nettleton Lincs.

Where do I go from here?

Lincs John ???
