Surrey Completed Look up Requests / Re: Death at 76 Eridge Road ~ Croydon?
« on: Tuesday 05 May 09 22:36 BST (UK)  »
I have received a birth cert for a lady born at 60 Eridge road, and her mother a dom sev elsewhere. Can I assume that 60 was part of the same row of buildings?
The informant though was Reginald W Wilson, who I have found to be the Infirmaries Superintendant.
Why would this be, 4 weeks after the birth? Would the mother have been ill? She too was a lone parent and in 1911 they were living with someone else and the child took his name.
I want to know why she had not registered her herself? could she have been too ill and if so will there be records?

As an update, I found Henry Bromages death after many years of looking.
He died in 1916 in Derby, exactly 13 years after his mother.
Her surname was Johnson, so no relative, but they came from the same vilage so I now think they were old friends.

I have a copy of his birth in 1850, and since posting here, have found his death and have the cert.
I would still like to know if there was an obit for either him or his parents.
Thanks

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Electoral roll look up Derby?

I must say a big thank you to Alvaston Lad who has helped me someway to ending a 15+ year search.
I have today received the death certificate for "Harry Bromage" whom I believe to be my Henry.
His address at death was 198 Stockbrook Street, having died in 1916.
I had believed him to have died at the turn of the century but thanks to Alvaston Lad, I looked further...and the rest is history , as they say!!
I would still like to find his grave but I cannot thank you enough.
