I am interested in the Barrington family and would like to know where you got the details of the birth dates of William and Loveda's children. Is there a register in Ireland where I am living?

Martin,
From his record I see that he was back on board Achilles as a stoker from 3/5/1878 to 19/8/1878 which was when she was in the Dardanelles during the Russo Turkish war scare.

Many thanks for all your help

Therefore it is possible he married in Cork between leaving Virago in 1865 and going back to England in 1866. How did you know he started in Union Hall?
Thanks again for all the help.

Many thanks for that. I think the second record is for his service in the coastguard, although the date of volunteering looks wrong. Perhaps that is the date he joined the navy and his service is continuous from that date.

Did you ever get the log? I am interested in leading stoker Daniel Leary who was on board. The 1861 Census has all the personnel recorded under: Residence : 1861- Mediterranean, Vessels, Royal Navy, England

I have a copy of the Ordnance Survey map of 1834/1842 which shows the houses in Codrum  townland.
On the East nearest the town is Codrum House.
On the West is a smaller house Codrum West and between the two and to the South is Codrum Cottage.

Its been a while since I got this but I think it was through my local library which has paid access.
I will try to photo and post here.
