Thanks for replying Polarbear; yes, the information I have is from the 1851 census. My understanding is there are partial records from earlier years, and I was hoping someone could find something on any of these. Jim

I would appreciate anyone who has access to Canada province census to look up Samuel Fraser (possibly Frazier), possibly married at that time to Marguerite Wilson. He was born in Scotland (ca 1781?), but emigrated to Canada, and was in Christieville and St. Jean, in the mid-1800s. VERY much appreciated, as he is a brick wall . . .

Fermanagh / Re: Immigration to Canada from Fermanagh
« on: Thursday 18 March 10 15:16 GMT (UK)  »
sorry for the delay, I was out of the country last week. My family was definitely from Tullynaloob (there are slight spelling variations), not Tullyhummon. It is a townland just a few miles north of Pettigo, right on the Donegal border. My family went to Canada in the mid-1800s, ending up in St. Thomas, Ontario. If you go to FermanaghGold (http://www.fermanagh-gold.com/members) and scroll down you'll see a description of my family in Fermanagh and Canada.  Hopefully, you'll see a connection! Let me know.

Thanks for your research Elizabeth. I do have that record. But, still trying to find out how they got to St. Thomas in the first place. Maddening some times!  Thanks again.

Fermanagh / Re: Cashlinney Church

did try Google, with no luck.
The church was COI, I believe.  Not Catholic.  Thanks for tip on PRONI; I'll be there in July, and will check.

Fermanagh / Cashlinney Church
« on: Tuesday 26 February 08 17:06 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone ever heard of, or know anything about, Cashlinney church? It is located north of Pettigo, near the Fermanagh-Donegal border, and was the closest church to people in several townlands there (eg. Tulynaloob). It is in ruin now, not having been used for many years, but I would like to find church records from it, if at all possible.
