Hello Roy and fellow members

I was reading through Roy's first post on this topic and noticed that George Virgin and a Catherine Moore is listed.

I am a decendant of theses too...I am their great great granddaughter.

For Roy:  I do agree about there being a first marriage.  Please look at the attached document.  It explains a lot.

For anyone interested in more information or has more information on the MOOREs or VIRGINs, please contact me by email.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / ELWES or ELVES Marriage Look-up

I'm new to these board and I was browsing around and noticed this particular message.

I am looking for a marriage that possibly took place in Shoreditch or in and around the London area,  abt 1807 for a John ELWES (b. abt 1778 in Norwich) and a Mary ? (possibly HORTON)(b. abt 1790).

Is there such a couple or any ELWES or ELVES in the 1800 - 1810 time frame?

Your time is greatly appreciated.

I checked the LDS site - FamilySearch.org and couldn't find anything on the couple that you listed.

Also, I did searches on the Genealogy Surname Navigator and on Ancestory.com's free stuff and didn't have any luck.

Thanks but I have this information already.  I am looking more for John ELWES and Mary ?'s parents and sibblings.  I have nothing on this couple except for their children and most of their families dating to the present date.  Any help with this couple would be appreciated.

I am also looking for information on Catherine Thomasena Moore the wife of Rev. George Virgin.

Catherine and George were my great great grandparents through my mother.

Hello Everyone

I have a challenging fellow for you.

All I have on my mysterious ancestor is this:
John ELWES - b. abt. 1778 in Norwich (apparently).
    - married in abt. 1807 to a Mary ? (possibly HORTON)
    - Mary was b. abt 1790 - not sure where

Any information on John ELWES would be fantastic.

 Hello Everyone

I am a new member on this board.  I have noticed that you have been talking about my husband's ancestors and I wish to add a new source for you all who are researching this particular line.

After Norris/Hoarce Plumpton and Charlotte Cook had their first children: Mary, William, Joseph, James and Elizabeth Ann; they set sail for Canada some where between the years of 1833 and 1835.  The family settled in Brighton Township, Ontario, Canada.  There Norris/Hoarce & Charlotte had three more children" George (my husband's great great grandfather), John and Charlotte.

I do have a brick wall further back in this lineage with William Plumpton (born abt 1745) and his wife Mary Howlett (born abt 1745).  I do have Mary's father's name as Robert and mother's name as Mary (her surname is unknown).

If you have any informaton regarding this lineage or have questions of my Canadian ties, please email me.
