Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Baptism/birth lookup please?

Yes, that's right. My great great grandfather William Thorpe Bellamy (became a butcher with shop on London Rd) married Mary Ann Colvin of Pinchbeck, Spalding & they had my great grandfather William Thorpe, then Frank (who died as a baby), Elizabeth, Sarah and Ann. Have records on all of them (including marriages) but Ann; last known she was on the 1881 census as a grocer (once again at London Road). After then, who knows? She could have married or even died. So, I'm still on the hunt for the Huguenot connection to see if that string of the Bellamy family were, indeed, descended from Huguenot refugees. I suppose it means tracing back the parish records for great great great great grandfather William born in 1800 (Spalding area?).

Are you referring to the 1841 census with the very young children, ie Missoura?  I'm not sure whether that's them but only because their son - my great great grandfather - William Thorpe Bellamy was born in 1823 and it seems a big age gap for the children. Elizabeth (nee Thorpe) Bellamy is on the 1861 census as a grocer with my great grandfather William (again) Bellamy aged 13 with her.
Apologies for putting the request on twice: i hadn't at first seen the "Requests" forum.

Thanks. Tried that but must be doing something wrong as it doesn't work. I can see the total numbers but it doesn't allow me to click on it ....

Kerry / Lookup WHITE, Knockeenduff, Killarney
« on: Sunday 29 October 06 20:31 GMT (UK)  »
Any chance of anyone looking up the WHITE family from Knockeenduff (Knockeenduve) Killarney.
The Whites are still living there now (my husband's cousins & aunt) but we are a little short in history for that side of the family.
Thanks Lisa

Yes, I saw that one and wondered myself. It's just that the children seem very young. His son William Thorp(e) Bellamy was born in 1823 in Spalding Lincs. It's not as if he would have married again as Elizabeth (Thorpe) Bellamy lived on a long time after he did.  For instance, in the 1861 census, she is running a grocers shop and my great grandfather (William Bellamy, born 1848) is there with her. Still, I suppose it could be him. Don't know if the 1823 William had brothers or sisters.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 Census Lookup Please - MANNING
« on: Sunday 29 October 06 20:11 GMT (UK)  »
I can find my Manning family on the 1851 census, but not on the 1861 census - would there be any reason for this? They are also on the 1871/1881/1891/1901 (what's left of them by then) I am most interested in the 1861.
Father - Thomas Manning (born Crediton Devon 1821/3)
Mother - Susan Manning (born Exeter Devon 1823)
Frances - born Exeter
Henry - born Exeter
Elizabeth (born 1845, St Georges Hanover sq) - my great great grandmother
+ other siblings

Good idea, thanks. How do I find them on the "board"? Sorry as I'm new to this, not sure what to do!
Thanks

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Baptism/Birth look up BELLAMY
« on: Sunday 29 October 06 20:04 GMT (UK)  »
I have traced my Bellamy family back as far as I can on the census records (1851, can't find anything on 1841). Can anyone help me with tracing the baptism record of William Bellamy, born around 1800 in Spalding, Lincolnshire? In 1851 William is listed as a grocer. I am trying to find out if our family were indeed descended from Huguenot refugees which is what we've always been told.
Many thanks Lisa
