Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays ;D

Long time since I posted on here and need some advice.

I have come to a brick wall and as I am still learning I just don't know what to do.

Samuel Phillips Born 1787 Swinnerton, , Staffordshire, England
He is my third G Grandfather.  I have names and dates of his wife and children.. wife being Elizabeth Baker.

I would like to get further back to HIS parents but I don't know how.  I don't have access to ancestry and when I did have the 14 day trial I seemed to get no where.

Where to now folks???

hello.. I wonder if anyone can place my William Phillips born Maer Staffordshire abt 1829 in the census  year of 1841

I know he was not at home with his parents.  I belive he married a Martha Salt and I think I place him in the years 1861 1871 1851 1881 and defo in 1891 in a workhouse but no 1841

well.. I think I have solved some of the mystery.

sometime ago I emailed someone on ancestry as they had a Thomas phillips in there tree 1852... with the same area of one of my thomas's.  My thomas was born to Thomas and Harriet also. (Harriets maiden name is Owen)  Anyhow.. turns out it's the same Thomas.. but... this thomas born in 1852 also had a son called Thomas who was born 1881 in NORMANTON Yorkshire. His full name is Thomas Owen PHillips  There is no Harriet on the tree.  I got so confused with the whole situation I am now beginging to question why I thought thomas and harriet were Josephs children.   I think they are actually Thomas's children.
