Ooo sorry!  :(  Thats how out of touch I am, I should've reminded myself of the rules.  Thank you!  I really just wanted to know if there was a death record for him then that would've been the end of the search for me anyway.

My aunt is trying to find out if her father is still alive.

Since having my son I'm a little out of touch with the whole family history thing and haven't done any for quite some time, but she asked me to help her.

I would really appreicate any help.

His details are: Thomas Hughes, born Glasgow, Age now 87. Was a dispatch rider in the war in Black Watch. After war moved to 25 Tintern Road/Street, Chorlton Cum Hardy, Manchester, M20

Thats all the info we have.  First question we have of course is whether he is alive still or not.  I think she just wants to know if he is.

Really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance! Katherin

Her death entry (at least I'm inferring that this is her) gives her age at death as 24:

Death Dec qtr 1901

Emma PATEMAN aged 24

Hampstead 1a 463

Marriage Dec qtr 1901

Emma MATTHEWS
William PATEMAN

on same page, Hampstead 1a 1409

Anna :)

P.S. Sad story - do you know any more about the murder?

Yes Willow on here kindly sent me a newspaper article she found and the husband murdered her 6 weeks after they married, seems he had a few mental issues and he shot her then himself on Hampstead Heath. Very sad indeed.

Oooo I don't know.  Is there any others?  The age is wrong but could they have given it wrong or written it wrong?  She definitely was 1877 so could only have been 23/24 depending on which month her birthday was.(before or after march when census was done)

Is East Dereham given as place of birth?  Cos her birth certificate said Great Cressingham. As did earlier census.

 :-\

(thank you for helping :))

Hi, if anyone can look these up I would eternally grateful.  I don't have enough time to take this up as a hobby at the moment unfortunately. But I'm trying to help my mum with a couple of bits here and there as she doesn't have internet access.

I would love copies of the pages relating to
1901 census
Emma Matthews
Born 1877 so around 23/24 years of age
Born in Great Cressingham Norfolk
Married in Hampstead Heath in Nov 1901 and was murdered by her husband in Dec1901.

Basically we are hoping for the census info to find out more about what Emma was doing with her life that year as the last record we have of her is from the 1891 census at age 14. I would like to print it out for my mum to keep in her records with everything else.

Thank you very much in advance to anyone who may have time/inclination to help us.  :)
