Hi GKMart,

With your information it appears my suspicions regarding Martin connections making their way to the US were not unfounded.

I recently received my DNA results which indicated Martin relatives in the US.

The descendants of Julius Martin now number several hundred in Australia.

I have a Martin Family Australia website under construction.

Would be happy to share info.

regards

Mark Martin

Great to hear from you Andrew.

The twists and turns of genealogy !

Have made several Martin connections over the past couple of years. It seems the Cambridgeshire Martins and their descendants moved to many parts of England and two (at least ) branches moved to Australia.

Good luck with the further refinement of your tree. Keep me posted.

Very frustrating this Martin name at times - Why couldn't we have something a little less common like, say  Nitram !

cheers

I've just answered my own question by checking Andrew Martin's tree.
It appears from Andrews' tree Charles is not the son of James and Mary.

Hi Hunny,

My 3g grandfather was Charles Martin born about 1805 - is Charles a son of your James Martin and Mary Waters ?

Hi Hunny,

Thanks for that

Yes - I'm easily confused ! - it is quite possible that our Martins are connected - Wardy Hill and Little Thetford being not too far apart (approx. 6 - 7 kms ?) -  how do we find out?

My 3g grandfather Charles Martin I believe was born in Barway which is quite close to Little Thetford. Ring any bells for you?

regards

Mark Martin
