Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Old (1938) Newspaper Lookup Please
« on: Saturday 15 March 08 22:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Gah,
Thank you for replying to my request, my sister in law asked me to post the message as she is fairly new to the Family Tree business, this Reginald Bladen is her father, and she would love to find the newspaper article on him, the only other information on him is that his mother name was Alice and that he was born 12 March 1938 in Doncaster and was known as the Miracle baby as they didn't expect him to live, so when do you think he would be mentioned in the newspaper? We thought that it would be within a couple of months.
My sister in law lives in Queensland, Australia and I live in Tasmania, Australia, so we are not local, if you need anything looked up here in Tasmania just let me know and I will see what I can do.
I hope you can help, if you like you could email me at lfclark@netspace.net.au if you find anything.
Regards
Leanne :) :)

Hello OzzieJoan,

Thanks for your help, I will check it out about the certificate. I knew about the 1881 Census, thats how I found about him, Just that I can't find his death either here in NSW, Australia, he just seems to have disappeared, but will check out the site you gave me.

Hello Ozzie Joan,

Thank you for finding out there birth information, I really appreciate it, I was wondering why Sidney Fisher wasn't on there. Or where could I find out his birth, I know he was born about 1879 because of what was on the Emigration Papers. Any Ideas would be great.

Again Thanks

Leanne

Somerset Lookup Requests / Convict Trials 1848
« on: Wednesday 29 June 05 02:43 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if someone can tell me where to find Convict trials, Benjamin THOMPSON was tried at Wells on the 4 Jan 1848, aged 16 yrs for stealing and was sent to Van Dieman"s Land on the ship Maria Somes (2), it left Isle of Wight on April 30, 1850 and travelled to Van Dieman:s Land with 30 Parkhurst Boys on Board.
She arrived in Hobart on August 9 1850, Benjamin was listed on Tasmanian
Convict Department Assignment Lists 1849-51 but not specified as a
Parkhurst Boy on Home Office Records [11/16].
So any ideas on how to find his Trial record would be grateful, I do have his Convict Record.

Hello Geoff,

Sorry I haven't answered you sooner, but I was having trouble replying to the message.

Thanks for checking out the 1851 Census for me, I think that Edith is the one I am looking for, would you know how I could find the other family members?

Regards
Leanne
