Lancashire / Re: Liverpool Registry Office

This fee applies to searches that you wish to do personally at a Register Office.  You may search the index  but not the registers.  However it has to be arranged in advance and can only be at a time when suitable for the office.

Hi If you are going to buy the certificate  you could  call or write  to Mansfield Register Office quoting details of the father it should be and asking them only to issue certificate  if the same.  If not they will return your cheque.

Nottinghamshire / Re: A rough guide to Basford & Basford Registration District
« on: Wednesday 14 March 07 17:55 GMT (UK)  »
I work there and yes it is confusing you should try explaining it to other people on the phone who do not live in the area.  As a matter of interest we only conduct Marriages here and do not Register Births and Deaths ( these are done at our sub districts)  because we are actually  physically situated in Nottingham Registration area. ;D

Sorry cannot find a website for them but Syston does have a History Society, perhaps Leics County Council can help or can you find a local councillor to write too.
