Carmarthenshire Lookup Requests / Re: Llanwinio/Llanboidy Parish Records
« on: Wednesday 07 February 07 18:19 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks very much for trying the Record Office for me.

I have Benjamin and Sarah's Marriage Certificate.  They were married in Clydey, because she was from that area, on 26 Oct 1843 witnessed by David Matthias & Stephen Owen.  Benjamin's father was David Scourfield a farmer and Sarah's father was Benjamin Davies a farmer.

Benjamin's son, James was married in Bethlehem Chapel in Carmarthen in 1878.  I seem unable to find out who holds these records.

I am grateful for your help.

Thanks for your help.

Sarah's address is given as Penhyw which seems very similar to the address of Benjamin Davies.  Thanks again.

The marriage witnesses are David Mattias and Stephen Owen - no clues there.

I have a Sarah Davies b1820 (app) in Clydey and m (1843) to a Benjamin Scourfield in Clydey.  Her father is listed on the Marriage Certificate as Benjamin Davies [farmer].  Sarah and her husband then moved to Carmarthen where his family were from.

Can anyone help me find any details of her birth and/or mother's details? :D

Hi Jocelyn

Yes - these are my Scourfields!!

Are you related to them?

I have registered with Ancestry and I have found Benjamin and his family in all of the census returns from 1841 to 1901.  But nothing before!  Can someone help?

Does anyone have any information on the Riddler family based in Swansea in the 1800's.   I know that George and his sons were corkcutters - but does anyone know anything else?

I discovered this link from the Cambrian, and noted that the Corkcutters from Swansea are my gg grandfather and his father.

Every family has to have its skeletons - and I think I have just discovered ours!
