Hi Colin
So far my BATTEN connections are from Redlynch/Downton, but I am only back to late 1700's.

Daughter of Daniel HARRIS & Anne Mussell - Elizabeth - linked to my research.

Elizabeth married James BATTEN, brother to g.g.grandfather.

Could someone please check for me the marriage of James BATTEN to Sarah Bryant 17th April 1817?

I am really stuck establishing his father.
Thank you

I am new to this chatroom and so maybe this is not the right format!

In my husbands tree is:
Anne Mussell, christened 25/1/1813, daughter of George Mussell & ELIZABETH SHERGOLD.
She married Daniel HARRIS and their daughter went on to marry James BATTEN.

Unfortunately I find SHERGOLD is a common Wilts name and also crops up in the other side of my husbands family with:
James SHERGOLD, born about 1824 (Redlynch) and his wife Louisa.

If you can provide some 'branches' I would appreciate it. Thanks
