Looking to find Frank or Leslie Reynolds in 1901 census.
In the London or Middlesex areas.   They were born born in Australia, but am wondering whether they came to Britain as did one of their brothers who was my grandfather.     Most grateful for any leads.
TIA

Angela

Scotland / Trying to find MURRAY connections
« on: Friday 10 September 04 09:56 BST (UK)  »
Trying to find the birth details of my gt. gt. grandfather Charles MURRAY.   He was born around 1824 and according to the 1881 census, he was born in Scotland, but I have no idea in what part.

He had a daughter called Eliza and she was christened in Marylebone,  London.

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Looking up records before 1837
« on: Thursday 09 September 04 21:25 BST (UK)  »
I am now stuck after having quite a good start on tracing my tree.   My interests are now before 1837.

The records I now need to search would be in parish records I presume.  I am tracing my gt. gt. grandfather
who has a fairly common surname, which doesn't help matters.  His name is Thomas REYNOLDS and I want to find out who his parents were to go back another generation.
Thomas married in 1816 in Old Church, St. Pancras. On one of his daughter's marriage certificates he is down in the father's name and surname and does not have deceased by this, which would mean he was still alive in 1844.  There is no trace of him or his wife or family in the 1881 census.    Am I right in thinking that if I search the parish records I might find him there ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Scotland / MORRISON
« on: Tuesday 07 September 04 20:52 BST (UK)  »
I have the MORRISON in my tree tracing back to my gt. gt. grandfather George MORRISON.   This name was carried on as a middle name for several generations after, both for boys and girls.   George was born in Scotland about 1815 and he married Amelia McGREGOR in 1837.
If any of this rings bells, I would love to hear from you.

England / REYNOLDS - ENGLAND AND AUSTRALIA

REYNOLDS family in England and Australia.

Trying after many years to find anybody in the same lineage.   My grandfather who was born in Australia, came to England as a young man and married.   He was Harry Charles Reynolds and he had several siblings.  Some stayed in Australia, but am not sure if any came to England as did my grandfather.

The Common Room / Death certificates
« on: Sunday 11 July 04 21:00 BST (UK)  »
I need to find a death certificate for my gt. gt. grandfather.
On his daughter's marriage document in 1844 at Islington he was not stated as deceased, but was this always accurate ?
Can I expect to find stated on the death cert. his place of birth ?    I will be going to my nearest library to search the St. Catherine's house fiches.

I have his marriage entry in 1816 at Old Church. St. Pancras, London that I found on the LDS website.  I saw it on the microfilm, but it was very feint.  Is there anywhere else I can search in London?

Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I would be most grateful.
