Dear Griffo,

My wife's uncle was Sgt James E G Dovey. (19)
In his personal diaries he referred to his flying friends as
John (presume pilot Kenner (25))  Spence (navigator presume St John Spencer) Marshal (was that Milne? or second pilot from earlier team?)  Lucky (was that Sgt Smith - rear gunner?)

Do you have a connection with any of these other crew?

Just read your post.

J E G D was my wife's uncle.  He died in 1941 otherwise your details were correct.
If you are connected to the Dovey family I have more information

Thanks Celia, Yes I did notice the date but on some areas of my tree it can take a long time to find the the right connections through all of the various sources available.

Did you manage to find a link between Ralph and Richard LINDOP?

I am descended from Richard b1778 and have quite a few Lindops in my tree but I cannot confirm any link at the moment.

Are you on Genes Reunited?
