Lancashire / Anderton Laura or Florence born c1900
« on: Thursday 02 February 17 10:30 GMT (UK)  »
The 1901 census gives a dau Laura, age 1yr bn M/c, of George Henry Anderton & Elizabeth Ann nee Clough. Laura doesn't seem to appear on FBMD, UKBMD or Lancs OPC.

There is a Laura, dau of William Henry & Nellie  Anderton, on the 1901 census F/S aged 6 mths all bn Blackpool. GOV births gives mmn Cornall. This WHA was too young to be the son of GHA.

GHA & EAA had a dau Florence on the 1911 census aged 11yrs. Have her baptism, just the one name. Was Florence and Laura the same person? Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Megran.

Please could anyone with access to Holy Trinity baptisms check the following.  Possibly found some more children of David and Elizabeth Smith (nee Raybould). Florence Gertrude 3Q 1880 or 1Q 1883, David 1Q or 3Q 1882. John 1Q 1884 Smethwick/Harborne. Also the death registers for a David 1Q 1884 age 36yrs (the father?) and a David 2Q 1884 aged 2yrs. (Elizabeth the mother remarried after 1884).
Many Thanks,
Megran.

Added, now found death of Stephen Thomas 3Q 1873 0yrs.

Hi Glen,
Reply in part, later than planned. Margaret Lomas married Alexander Robson 23 Dec 1865, St John, Miles Platting, M/c. Margaret only had this one christian name in all records I have found.
Now to Mary Ann Rippett. Have the 1841 census with the Richard and Mary Gregory, like you haven't found any other reference to R & M.
1851 census MAR 12yrs G/D of Thomas Rippett Hd
1861 census MAR 22yrs on image, but Mary Ann Lomas on transcript G/d of Thomas Rippett Hd
1866 marriage of MAR to John Henry Richardson. MAR may have said her father as Thomas    with a 'new' occupation.
1871 census JHR & MAR have two children Elizabeth Ann bc1862 & Sarah bc1869
BUT Elizabeth Ann is registered before marriage as EA Ripit no mothers maiden name.
1872 a son Thomas Richardson is registered with mother as Rippett may be other children
This is as far I have been able to search.
Notes made....
MAR could be dau of May/Mary of T&C...nothing else known.
MAR could be dau of Margaret of T&C...nothing else known.
MAR could be dau of Jane (& Wm Rosenbaum)
MAR could be dau of Thomas Rippett son of T&C (he died 1848)
MAR could be dau of Thomas Rippett Hd of family
I did see the late baptism of William Rosenbaum.
Will continue searching,
Regards,
Megran.

Hi Glen, Thanks for your reply. Yes, with all the info on the census etc there is only the one Jane Rippett. Started to check for a William Rosenbaum nothing found (yet) but with different spellings of the surname or even a change of name not surprising. No burial for Jane Neild found.

Thomas (Rippett) Rosenbaum  married Mary Nevil 1859 at St Mary the Virgin, Eccles, they had two daughters Catherine bn 1862 and Elizabeth bn 1864. In 1871 census Mary (married, no husband there) and the two daughters were living with Jane Neild Hd, as dau-in-law and grand daughters. Mary died 1908, Elizabeth 1909, Catherine married. Thomas Rippett Rosenbaun died 1909.

I have further info etc on Margaret Lomas she married and their son married Mary Ellen Walker bn M/c and bp Bolton, her parents were both from Bolton.

There seems to be some Trees on Ancestry, I'm not a subscriber, but they do differ on the Index.
Thomas Rippett has several members of his extended family living with him from time to time.
Hope this may help. I will continue on the Rippett brickwalls.
Many Thanks,
Regards,
Megran.
