Durham / Re: Did My Joseph die in 1855?
« on: Friday 17 January 14 22:24 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Again, like my name I think I was having a senior moment!!
On the 1851 census she is 33, therefore born in 1818 ish. Not sure where I got 1827 from??
On Mary's wedding certificate in 1847 to Joseph it says "Mary Drummond" as her name with father Thomas Scott and on the Freebmd she is listed as Mary Drummond.... Is this a typo?
On the 1851 census she is listed as being born in South Shields but she was married at Monkswearmouth and there is a listing of a Mary Scott born in Sunderland on the 2-5-1818 with a father Thomas .............. Am I confused? Just a bit.
It would be interesting to know where she is born on the 1861 census when she was married to William Geddes.
Thank you all again

Hi, thank you all for your time and great effort.
Mary was Mary Drummond Scott and her father was Thomas Scott and mother Elizabeth.
I don't have access to the 1861 census records at this time ..... Must rejoin! But I do have the 1871 records and Joseph is married to Mary Hindmarch and with baby son George.
So, it would seem that father Joseph (born 1815) died between 1851 and 1855 ish and his wife remarried in 1856 and they only had one child i.e. Joseph.
Thank you again.

Durham / Did My Joseph die in 1855?
« on: Wednesday 15 January 14 23:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All, I would like to run this past you and see what you think.

I have a Joseph Harrison born 15/10/1815 clerk, and married to Mary Scott born 21/11/1827 they were married in Monkwearmouth 27/3/1847
On the 1851 census they were living in South Shields and had a son Joseph born 4/6/1848. Who later became a joiner.
I am unable to find Joseph (the father) on the 1861 census although I have found a death for a Joseph Harrison in South Shields in 1Q 1855, 10a 275 and a marriage for a Mary Harrison in South Shields in 3Q 1857, 10a 564.
I am unable to find any other children except Joseph.
I’m pleased they had Joseph else I wouldn’t be here!!  :)

Hi All
It's been some time since I spent time on my family tree but now winter is here I thought I'd give it another go.
I seem to have lost some information having recently moved house and changed my computer so my question is: Where can I find the web site that gives me the the actual images of the original records and not just the listings. I have had it in the past but seem unable to find it again.
Thank you and Happy New Year.

My wife was born in Charlton St as was her mother and grandmother and this area was high density back to back terrace houses, she doesn't think Charton St was bombed but Ayscough St was, which, in those days ran parallel and to the East of Charlton St.
She has no recollection of Charlton Terrace.

The Moonlight Bar off the Market Place, was upstairs at a well known pub known as the Pestle & Mortar, or the P & M in those days, probably 150 yards from the train station.

I think you are all right, I was looking at the wrong Thomas Mabbott, the one born in Sleaford 1822.
Would you believe two Thomas Mabbotts born about the same time and not too far from each other.
Thank You
