Rang our ISP last night - brilliant service - it was up within 10 minutes. They thought the problem was a recent upgrade -

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Help with date
« on: Wednesday 06 October 10 12:22 BST (UK)  »
The photo was found in a coal shed with photos of my Gt Gt grandfather, my Gt grandfather and my grandmother who died 1893. Must have been well framed to survive. This was the only one that was coloured.

They only had sons but one died 1892 aged 4 years - his mother's photo was pre 1893 so it could be him.  I have photos of all the others as young men. The first girl in the family was born 1909 to one of the sons.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Help with date

I would appreciate others thoughts on this picture, the original I believe was found in a frame.

Appears to be a combined photo/ painting - the colouring is as it was found.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Any ideas about date ?

Many Thanks
Linda

Is the look-up offer still available?

I'm interested in an item I found in the catalogue.

PCC/60/1/4088 - plans for alterations to a building - 1884 - 3 Norley Cottages Plymouth.

My folk lived at 5 Norley Cottages pre 1871, I assume the properties were similar so interested to know about the original building - how many rooms / detached or terraced / any out-buildings etc.

Many thanks
Linda

Hi Andrew

Great to hear from you.
It's getting late here in Aus. but sounds promising...
Luke Cockbain (son of Henry and Suzannah Peat born Dalston 1765) was living Bankend by 1794.

We have a busy day tomorrow but  tomorrow evening I'll get back to you with more info. about Luke, his family and Bankend.

Hi Chris

Noticed your message - I have an interest in the Cockbain family who were stone masons in the Bigrigg/ Bankend area.
