"Who Knew" so many would try!!!! -They are all great,  I am trying the suggestion of scanning in colour, works!
also thought it was earlier; but  ambrotype photos are 1854-60's - it has to be in Ontario, Canada.    Thank you all for your quick and time consuming help -     ml

PRUE M - ] My Wm. Frederick Bonsall was born/ch in 1823 Hyde Lane Cheshire, married Elizabeth Pegg 1841 Hull,  to Canada 1846.
I was dating photo by her parents photo  they lived there before leaving England.
His parents are Wm. Frederick Bonsall  b. 1801 Notts & Elizabeth Litton; g.parents -  Wm. F.Bonsall, b.1774 Derby+Julianna Evans.  Does that fit yours?   ml

I am researching George Barron- Elspet Falconer; b.1807, Elgin; have 10 children, have nothing about sister Jane b.1813 , just name, parents William Barron-Isabella Dow;   would like to compare. ml
