Hi Lin

I agree there must be a connection between our lycetts along the line somewhere. Any information you have is much appreciated and any new information I receive I will pass on to you.

As to the genealogy program I am trying to use the who do you think you are software. I’m not really too sure when the Lycetts settled in Rugeley but I have heard that they could have been there since the late 1600s but I’m not entirely sure this is accurate yet. Unfortunately I haven’t managed to locate John Lycetts siblings or parents yet. But my mother has been trying to help me with this; she was born and raised in Rugeley and I was partly raised in Rugeley myself as well and she tells me that there are Lycett relatives that she knows are still living there.

I currently live in Essex although I originally hail from Staffordshire. Here is a website you may find of interest that’s all about Rugeley there is a page on the website about streets of Rugeley there you will find Albion Street where a lycett   family lived during the 1800s to add to this there was also Lycett families that lived in Etching hill and Sheep fair in Rugeley and I am currently trying to find out if they are related to my John lycett. It would be great if we could catch up when your over here let me know more about your visit soon.

Merry Christmas

Hi there Linda thank you for your reply

I must admit I have come to bit of a brick wall concerning my Rugeley Lycetts but what I have discovered on my mothers side is that my great grandfather was John Lycett also known as Jack who was a cole miner and his wife was Selina and they mostly lived in Rugeley as far as know. I am interested in finding a connection between your Thomas Lycett and my John Lycett and to see if the west Bromwich and the Rugeley Lycetts are indeed related. Would you like to share future information that I find on the Rugeley Lycetts?

Regards

Wendy

Sorry for not replying to you sooner Alf. I am new to all this ancestry research so I don’t know a great deal yet.  :( All of my surname interests come from the Rugeley area mostly and I know that a few of them were buried in Rugeley. I will post more info when I find it.  :)
